The Meaning behind the Logo

The concept behind the logo is to capture the essence of the local identity and the central theme of the conference. To this end, we found inspiration in the works of the renowned local artist Joaquín Torres García, known for creating the art movements of Modern Classicism and Universal Constructivism. We adopted his distinctive color palette and integrated various elements into the design, encompassing aspects of Montevideo/Uruguayan culture, and the field of ultrasound.

1) The gate of the "Ciudadela", which was the entrance of Montevideo in colonial times.

2) An ultrasound transducer

3) The sun, present on the uruguayan flag

4) The "rambla", Montevideo's coastline

5) The Salvo Palace, an iconic building in the Montevideo city center

6) Uruguayan mate

7) A signal/ultrasonic pulse

8) The Centenario stadium, where the first soccer World Cup final was held in 1930

9) "MVD" stands for Montevideo

10) The "Cerro de Montevideo", present in the Uruguayan shield or coat of arms

11) A lighthouse

12) A "piano, chico, or repique" drum, typically used in Candombe, a music and dance style that originated in Uruguay among the descendants of liberated African slaves (inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity).

13) A soccer ball, the national sport.
