The success of the last 2021 IEEE LAUS has demonstrated the power of collaboration between Latin American and researchers worldwide. Now, we invite you to take this collaboration to the next level and participate in opportunities such as the two new research initiatives supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). These grants, PAR-23-303 and PAR-23-304, are specifically designed to tackle the pressing issue of non-communicable and chronic diseases (NCDs) in Latin America and among US Hispanics/Latinos.

Accelerating Open Biomedical Research in Latin America
Submissions due March 29, 2024 by 17:00 Pacific Time
The Open Science team at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative is excited to hear your ideas on accelerating the uptake and implementation of open science best practices in Latin America, particularly among biomedical researchers. Today we are announcing a Request for Information about projects and organizations working on these issues.
This is a Request for Information (RFI), not a Request for Proposals or Funding Applications.
We want to learn about and map specific opportunities and challenges associated with increasing the adoption of open science best practices among biomedical researchers in Latin America. We welcome researchers, communities, organizations, software developers, and the broader biomedical and open science ecosystem to submit information via this RFI that can help identify opportunities for overcoming the challenges associated with practicing open biomedical research in the region.
Please see this blog post for more information, Frequently Asked Questions, and to complete your submission. Still have questions? Email [email protected].
